For any account created by a user, the user name and the password are the most crucial information and should never be misplaced. But, with the advent of the digital age and information age, users have plenty of accounts at their disposal for operating each of their transactions. Now a day, all banking, shopping, educational and other important day to day activities are carried out online. Thus, it is quite possible that a user confuses the credentials of an account due to which he or she is not able to log in to the account. And, if this is the primary email account, the condition becomes extremely crucial because users normally tend to associate most of their transacting accounts to their email account.
Yahoo acknowledges and is aware of the criticality of this matter and has hence designed a process which ensures that the user is able to promptly reset their account and at the same time, the authenticity of the user is not compromised. Customers are free to either recover their account password by following the series of steps as designed by Yahoo, or by getting in touch with Yahoo customer service executive via any of their service platforms.
The series of steps that is to be followed by a user for resetting his or her password are mentioned below:-
a) The user first needs to visit the log in screen and click on the hyper link which states “Not able to log in”. This link is specifically for account recovery. Once the user clicks on this account, he or she is presented with a lot of options which are nothing but the reasons for which a user is normally not able to access his account
b) The user needs to select the option corresponding to password recovery. The system would prompt the user to enter his user name corresponding to which the password is requested.
c) The alternate email address and the mobile phone number which was registered while creating the account are accessed and a verification code is sent to the same. The user can then use the verification code to unlock his or her account.
However, it is highly recommended for users to change their password in the first log in itself as the verification code is a system generated code and can be easily tracked. Apart from this customers can also get in touch with the Yahoo technical support team for resetting their password. The team after authenticating the user, would send a verification code using which the account would be reset.
